Intro to Upcycled Fashion & Decor Workshop * Nov. 27

Re-imagine your wardrobe or home decor by dissembling and reconstructing clothing and your old fabric stash. In this class you will learn how to see beyond what a garment currently is, and discover its potential as something new, unique, and very you – to love it again. We will focus on colour, shape and pattern to remake items into a new piece of wearable art, a cushion cover, or decorative item.

Participants are asked to bring a working sewing machine (Please let Tiff know if you are able to bring a machine or not), fabric scissors and any clothing/fabric and embellishments they might like to use. Tiff has a number of fun bits and pieces available as well.

$55 per person.

Sunday, November 27th, 2022. 1:00pm – 5pm

at How(e) Creative Studio. 35 Pine Avenue, Haliburton. Call/Text to register. 705-457-6919 . Or send a message through my Contact page

Witch n’ Bitch

Tote a (reasonably sized) art/crafty project you’re working on and pick away at it in the company of other bitchin’ chicks. Tiff can help you with your project and offer some of her studio goodies (within reason!!). This is not a workshop, but more of an opportunity to hang with like-minded, creatives and wag some chins in a cool, casual environment.

Bring what you need for your project. BYOB/Snack if you want.

Suggested donation of $12 per person, or pay what you can ( * open to trades too * )

Scrappy Critters & Frankentoys Workshop

Slap together a shabby-chic or creepy-cute stuffed animal, made from upcycled fabric, pre-loved clothing, and found objects.

Ok, you’re actually gonna sew and assemble it… but however we put it together, it will be an adorable or heart-warmingly disturbing, one of a kind creature!

AND/OR

Salvage your favourite parts and pieces from ready-made, previously loved toys to build something freakish, fantastical, and very likely hilarious. The heroes from The Island of Misfit Toys will applaud you!

Participants are asked to bring a working sewing machine (if they prefer one over hand stitching), fabric scissors, and any clothing/fabric, pre-loved toys or found objects or embellishments they might like to use. Tiff will have a random stash of fun bits and pieces for you to riffle through and some tools available for use as well.

$45 per person.

Next Date/Time TBA.
