At How(e) Creative, *if* we choose to participate in commercial holidays, we like to put our own spin on ‘em.
Glow White’s Witchmas Wonderfrolic combines my affinity for seasonal traditions celebrating the cycles of nature, lore, stuff that glows in the dark, Tim Burton-esque vibes, silliness, and, of course, creativity in all its forms.
Inclusivity and lightheartedness are paramount.
The holidays can be rife with pressures and stress. Let’s bring back the re-gift, handmade wonders, up-thrift, and nature craft, and just frolic!
The 13 days of Witchmas shall commence at 12pm on Dec. 8th, 2023.
*Glow White’s Witchmas Wonderfrolic*
Handmade wonders and curated thrift.
Featuring original artwork and thrift collections by yours truly and a few fabulous guest artists.
Hopefully some silly activities, scarols, treats, & a Witch n’ Bitch evening as well… but we’ll just see how it all shakes out.
Studio open Wednesday - Friday 12-6, & Saturday 12-4, and otherwise by appointment.
Every year, How(e) Creative Studio presents You Make Me Wanna Scream: an exhibition of my original creations, a mega talented guest artist, glow in the dark oddities, Hallowe’en themed makes, shenanigans, and tomfoolery.
It takes place around Halloween, with candy for the kids on All Hallows Eve, spooky sounds and Witches dancing in the street, and the whole studio lit with black lights.
Returns October 2023 as You Make Me Wanna Scream Wail
Totally stoked to be featuring another paired exhibition with my favourite dude pal, David Partridge!
Opening Friday the 13th, 3-8:30pm
Closing Ritual Oct. 31st, trick-or-treat time till we’re tuckered out.
(I’ll be randomly open throughout the 2 weeks, but still advise you call/text/DM instead of just dropping by. Drop ins discouraged… like always, my loves!)
The first You Make Me Wanna Scream was in 2021, featuring a paired exhibition with David Partridge.
David presented a collection of large, black & white paintings of some of his favourite horror film characters. Each image is painstakingly broken down to pixels which are first drawn & mapped onto canvas, then hand painted. The effect is that when viewed up close, there is obviously something there, but it is only clearly seen from far away. “Zoom out. Get some space. You’ll find that nothing is black & white.” ~David Partridge a.k.a. Deep Pity.
Salvaged Remnants
CARFAC recognized Solo Exhibition at the Agnes Jamieson Gallery, Minden Hills Cultural Centre. Directed by Laurie Carmount. February, 2020.
Featuring various series of my work - demonstrating the evolution of my experimentation with upcycled denim, my sercret concoction and found objects. This exhibition discussed all of the elements, ponderings, and inspirations that motivate me to keep exploring these materials, and how the response of viewers affects my investigations, including sharing my process in depth on social media.
